This pilot research assesses the current state of food security in Africa and Southern Africa. Four people were interviewed, of which three were unemployed at the time. The paper gives a fair and realistic perspective of food security. Issues raised range from; unfair dismissal, failure to access basic food, the link between poverty and hunger, just to name a few. The report also critically discusses if there has been any progress made with regards to Millennium Development Goal One; to halve poverty and hunger by 2015.
